Washington State Hexed: No-Hit by Boyce
Thursday, April 13th, 2028
Fans at Wolverines Stadium got a rare gift today as Don Boyce of the Bears tossed a no-hitter against the Washington State Cougars.
Although Boyce did not appear to have his best stuff in the early innings, he turned masterful as the game went on, ultimately striking out 11 and walking 5 in a 2-0 Baylor victory.
"We had our chances in the first few innings when he was hittable, and we couldn't capitalize on them," Washington State manager Nakazo Kobayashi said later. "In the last four or five innings, he totally shut us down."
In all, Boyce faced only 31 batters. While getting into his groove, he was helped by several defensive gems.
"I don't remember a better-pitched game," Bears manager Cody Evans said. "And how about our defense today?"
