3 Roundtrippers for Stone Friday, May 14th, 2027 There is an old saying, "Bad news comes in threes." Superstitious or not, it came true today in the case of the Baylor Bears. Scott Stone hit three homers and they still lost the game 9-8 to Washington State at Tribe Ballpark. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through like the Cougars did. Scott hit the heck out of the ball. I'm just sorry we couldn't win it for him," his manager said in the postgame press conference. In addition to the homers, Stone collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 8 RBIs and scored 3 runs. He said after the game, "Easy swings get you home runs. I told myself not to press on the last one. It had to be a nice and easy swing." Scott Stone hit a three-run home run off Lucas Morrow in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Lucas Morrow in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Lucas Morrow in the 4th, grounded out in the 7th and walked in the 9th. So far this year Stone is batting .350 with 12 home runs. |
