Ortega Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Tuesday, May 11th, 2027 Every day everyone is checking up on Carlos Ortega to see if he got a hit to keep his hitting streak alive. Today's answer is "yes." He did it with a 3-for-5 day against the Golden Eagles. The Houston Cougars third baseman stretched the streak to 20 games in his team's 10-6 triumph over the South Mississippi Golden Eagles at Suns Ballpark. Carlos Ortega hit an RBI double in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Curt Hart in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. So far this season Ortega is hitting .355 with 10 home runs, 41 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has 54 hits in 152 at-bats and a .434 OBP. |
