9-Game Suspensions for Belcher-Sutton Fight Thursday, May 6th, 2027 The fans at Hartford College Grounds saw it all yesterday in the Titans-Cougars game -- pushes, shoves, scuffles, a few tackles, a few swings, a few feeble punches -- and a baseball game, too. When the ruckus was over, only two players were sent to the showers by the umpire crew. Cal State Fullerton's Steve Belcher and Houston's Todd Sutton were ejected from the game. Today the two players were suspended 9 games by the league commissioner. Belcher is hitting .231 this season with 5 home runs, 17 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 25 hits in 108 at-bats. Sutton has pitched 18.1 innings and molded a 4.91 ERA with no saves. He has surrendered 21 hits while registering 17 strikeouts on his way to a 1-1 record for the Cougars this year. |
