Eric Stark Hurt, Out 17 Months
Saturday, May 1st, 2027
The Tennessee Volunteers learned that Eric Stark is likely to be out for 17 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Tennessee manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Eric is back in action."

This year Stark has made 7 starts, thrown 34.2 innings, fanned 33 batters and walked 7. His won-lost record is 3-0 with a 3.89 ERA.
