Hood Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 21 Thursday, April 29th, 2027 The Oregon State Beavers won the game 7-6 over the Oregon Ducks. At the same time the Ducks mound corps did what no other team could do. They stopped the 21-game hitting streak of Beavers center fielder Troy Hood. But that was still not enough to win the game. "Our pitchers might have focused a bit too much on stopping Hood," the Oregon manager commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Beavers have other hitters, and they did their job today." Hood is hitting .315 this season with 7 home runs, 13 RBIs and 26 runs scored. He has 35 hits in 111 at-bats. |
