Hood Hits in 20 Consecutive Games Tuesday, April 27th, 2027 Oregon State's 21-year-old center fielder Troy Hood has had a fine run at the plate over the last few weeks. His consecutive-game hitting streak has reached 20 games now. Today Hood extended the streak by going 1-for-5 against Owls pitching. The streak has brought him a degree of attention that he has tried to deflect. Hood always prefers to talk about his teammates' accomplishments rather than his own. After the Beavers 7-0 triumph over Rice at Palisades Ballpark he downplayed his part in the victory. Troy Hood singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th. This year Hood has batted at a .330 pace with 34 hits, 7 home runs, 13 RBIs and scored 24 times. |
