5 Hits for Cougars Flores Friday, April 23rd, 2027 It was a hits blitz for Ángel Flores at Ballpark of Celebration College. The Washington State Cougars third baseman tore into Texas for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. But it wasn't enough to win the game. The Texas Longhorns swept past the Cougars 8-7 to ruin the day for him. The Washington State manager bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today. Bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game. The Longhorns got too many good looks today, and we paid for it." Ángel Flores singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jorge Ríos in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 9th, walked in the 10th and singled in the 13th.
