Flores Belts 5 Hits Monday, April 19th, 2027 It was a good day for the Cougars at Ballpark of Aptos Hills-Larkin Valley College as they clipped the Arizona State Sun Devils 15-6. It was tremendous day for Ángel Flores, who went on quite a hitting spree with a 5 for 6 barrage. The Washington State third baseman told reporters after his big 5-hit performance, "I don't have any buzz words. I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' as they say. As far as the hitting goes, I try to keep it simple. I try not to look into it too much. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then try to hit it. Today I picked up the spin very well." Ángel Flores singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run triple in the 8th. For the season Flores is currently batting .438 with 3 home runs and 29 RBIs. In 20 games he has reached base at a .495 rate and scored 17 runs to date. |
