Super Swinger -- Morgan Slams 5 Hits Sunday, April 11th, 2027 It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for John Morgan -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Sooners Ballpark and paced the Trojans to a 13-5 win over the Texas A&M Aggies. After his dynamite batting performance the USC third baseman told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. John Morgan singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Manny Taylor in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Russell Gates in the 8th and struck out in the 9th. This season Morgan is batting .306 with 3 home runs. |
