Cottle Raps Palm Beach for 5 Hits
Sunday, September 10th, 2028
Whitewater Eagles right fielder Jonathan Cottle had a day to remember at The Aerie today, ripping apart the Palm Beach Bums and sparking the Eagles to a 8-0 victory.
Cottle wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Cottle told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
Jonathan Cottle singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
Cottle is hitting .187 so far this season with 31 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has 75 hits including 6 home runs, 28 walks and .253 OBP.
