BOL Presents Player of the Week Trophy
Monday, August 28th, 2028
No single hit brought Xiao-peng Chuang Player of the Week honors -- the Boise Bloodhounds catcher corralled the award with a consistent approach in every at-bat.
"Hitting is all about discipline," said Chuang. "When you lose focus, start to lunge at the ball and swing too aggressively... swinging at a lot of bad pitches... that's when your average starts to drop and you wind up fighting for playing time. You're most successful when you concentrate on the ball and make 'em throw strikes."
Concentrate he did. Chuang stroked 10 hits in 22 at-bats while cranking out 2 home runs, 6 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
This year Chuang has hit at a .285 pace and produced 59 RBIs, 19 home runs and scored 62 runs.
