Kansas City's Vasquez Sidelined for Season
Wednesday, July 26th, 2028
The doctors have spoken and Juan Vasquez of the Kansas City Blue Spaders didn't like what he heard. The 16-year-old closer is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Vasquez sustained his season-ending injury during the Stroudsburg Shade game yesterday at The Whig Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Kansas City medical staff reported Vasquez had a ruptured disc and would be absent from the lineup for at least 6-7 months.
For the year Vasquez has earned 4 saves, made 10 relief appearances, fanned 6 hitters in 8.2 innings and posted an ERA of 9.35 and a 1-0 record.
