Kubel Batters Chippewa Big Time Tuesday, July 25th, 2028 The 5th time was not the charm for Andreas Kubel today. The center fielder for the Eugene Emeralds hit the milestone today at The Reservation, but it was the Chippewa River Chiefs that salvaged a 8-7 victory. Kubel finished with a 5-for-5 line at the plate, and it still wasn't enough. "He was not an easy out, that's for sure," Chippewa manager Bruce Leah said to the press in the postgame interview. "I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win." Kubel declined to speak to reporters at length following the game, saying only that "no loss is a good one." Andreas Kubel hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
