First he went on an exceptional week-long batting spree, bashing the ball at a .423 clip, then the New Orleans right fielder finds out he has been chosen the league's best performer and gets the BOL Player of the Week Award. He told BNN reporters in the postgame, "It was a great week for me. I could see the ball so well. Plus some of the balls seemed to have good eyes, too." For the week Spear batted .423 (11-for-26) with 1 home run and 4 RBIs. For the season Spear is batting .352 with 25 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 14 times and batted in 9. |
