St. Paul Stops Farmer's Hit Streak
Saturday, July 31st, 2027
Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 21-game hitting streak, San Angelo first baseman Hal Farmer went hitless in 3 at-bats today in the Mustangs 3-2 win over St. Paul at Saints Ballpark.

In a postgame interview, he said, "Nope, not superstitious. Streaks don't last forever. Nobody jinxed me. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits."

His manager said, "It's not like we could go 21 games without talking to him."

This season Farmer has banged out 47 hits in 137 at-bats for a .343 average with 8 home runs. He is getting on base at a .432 pace and his totals also include 30 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
