Shimada Blisters Spokane
Wednesday, September 27th, 2028
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the New York's 7-6 win over Spokane today, center fielder Hiroya Shimada was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Confucius Field.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Shimada said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Hiroya Shimada hit an RBI single in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th, flied out in the 8th, singled in the 11th and singled in the 13th.
So far this year Shimada has 3 home runs and a .325 batting average.
