5-Hit Blitz by Silicon Valley's Taggart
Thursday, September 7th, 2028
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Woodrow Taggart, it came around today.
The 25-year-old third baseman scattered hits all over North Shore Park to pace the Silicon Valley Hackers to a 12-10 victory over the West Coast Defenders.
West Coast skipper John Griffin told reporters in the press room that "Taggart deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Taggart hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Woodrow Taggart hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jiro Watanabe in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
This season Taggart has hit at a .410 clip with 15 RBIs, 2 home runs and 12 runs scored.
