ACL Selects McConnell August's Best Starter Friday, September 1st, 2028 There's something about a young rookie winning the Alexander Cartwright League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Pat McConnell, a 22-year-old starter for the Riverside Red Bulls. In August, he topped off the month with a 6-1 mark and 1.77 ERA in 7 starts, tossed 40.2 innings, fanned 49 and held opposing teams to a .211 average. In 13 starts this year McConnell has posted 10 wins while suffering 1 loss. He has pitched 81 innings, allowed 59 hits, struck out 96 and has a 2.11 ERA. |
