Vargas Goes on Rampage Against Jail Birds Wednesday, June 14th, 2028 The Newark Jail Birds might think twice next time about pitching to Vicente Vargas. At Cobras Ballpark today, the Atlantic City Enforcers second baseman burned Newark pitching, going 5-for-7 in a 14-13 Atlantic City triumph. "When he's on his game," Atlantic City skipper Warren Barnes told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded." Vicente Vargas doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
