Injury Forces Sumitomo Kondo Out Monday, September 27th, 2027 Watching Sumitomo Kondo getting helped off the field today at Outlander Park, fans of the Frisco Rams feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the reliever will miss 12 months with a damaged elbow ligament. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Kondo suffered the injury throwing a pitch in the game against the Beetlecats. Running the numbers on Kondo for the year, he has made 63 relief appearances, recorded 14 saves and compiled a 4-7 won-lost mark with a 4.58 ERA. In pitching 76.2 innings, he has totaled 95 strikeouts and 38 walks. |
