It's Over: Wolverines Stop Ch'oe
Thursday, September 9th, 2027
For once, it was the Mustang picking up Cheol-chung Ch'oe.
Their offensive catalyst, as the Carson City manager calls him, saw his 20-game hitting streak snapped as Ch'oe was held hitless by the Wichita Wolverines at Howling Park. The 21-year-old first baseman went 0-for-5. It should have made for a lousy day, but his teammates picked up the slack and whipped the Wolverines 4-1.
At the press conference after the game, Ch'oe told reporters, "Everybody did the job but me. No problem, we won the game."
Asked how he felt about the streak ending, he grinned and replied, "It was a good run. I'll try to start another one tomorrow."
Ch'oe is hitting at a .286 mark this season. His stats show 19 home runs, 77 RBIs and 91 runs scored. He has played 133 games for the Mustang.
