Cincinnati Starting Pitcher Hurt

Earlier today, Cincinnati starting pitcher Ukessun Ilaes had to leave the game against Madison because of an injury. Team officials are reporting that he has a fractured coracoid bone in his shoulder and will miss 6 months of play. Ilaes was hurt throwing a pitch and was unable to continue playing. He will be evaluated this afternoon by team physicians.

Presently Ilaes has a 6-2 mark in 4 starts with a 2.49 ERA. He has given up 50 hits in 76 innings, struck out 77 and issued 60 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .195 batting average against him.
