No-Hit Masterpiece by Wa
Saturday, June 5th, 2027
Qing-nian Wa relied on excellent pitch selection and pinpoint control to hold New York hitless in his 10-0 win.
"I stayed ahead of batters," he said after the game, "and was able to get a lot of quick outs. My defense deserves a lot of credit too. They had to be on their toes and they saved me several times."
The 26-year-old starter rung up 4 strikeouts and 3 walks in whipping the Ninjas.
"When a guy is throwing strikes the way he was and is locating well, it is going to be a long day for any club," the New York skipper said.
This year Wa has a 4-3 mark in 10 starts with a 4.71 ERA. He has given up 51 hits in 57.1 innings, struck out 52 and issued 24 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .235 batting average against him.
