Tattersall Gone for Season in Joplin
Friday, September 15th, 2028
Wally Tattersall at first refused to leave today's Astoria-Joplin game after he suffered a ruptured finger tendon while making a defensive play. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Joplin center fielder said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Tattersall out of action for 4 months.
For the season Tattersall is hitting .199, batted in 16 runs with 3 home runs and 32 runs scored.
