3-Game Suspension for López
Tuesday, September 5th, 2028
The league office has taken action against Scranton center fielder Luis López for inappropriate action and aggressive conduct in the Escape game against the Coronado Phantoms. He has been issued a 3-game suspension.
López was ejected from the game yesterday after arguing a called third strike. He first argued with the plate umpire. Then López moved up the first-base line, waving his fists at the umpire as the dispute continued. As he left the field, he also argued with the crew chief, who was umpiring at third base. His manager finally convinced him to leave the field as the umpires were threatening to forfeit the game.
Thus far this season in 57 games López is batting .312 with 6 home runs, 25 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has 63 hits in 202 at-bats.
