Green Raps South Bay for 5 Hits
Monday, July 31st, 2028
The Fairfield Flash stopped the South Bay Arsenal by a score of 13-7 at Cruz Bay Park today, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Floyd Green. The 28-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Green said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Green did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Arsenal.
"Not much that I can say," offered South Bay manager Garfield Christian. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Floyd Green singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
Batting .354 to date, Green has 6 home runs and 24 RBIs.
