Vela 5-for-6 for Antioch Sunday, July 2nd, 2028 5 times is the charm -- at least for Ramón Vela. The Antioch Coal Miners second baseman tore up the Billings Mustangs to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats at Cobb Field today. The offensive onslaught from Vela powered the Coal Miners to a 24-8 win. "Vela was a tough out today," Billings manager Keith Irwin said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Ramón Vela singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a three-run double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.
