Freedom Hernández Smacks 5 Hits Friday, May 19th, 2028 Martín Hernández was at the head of a Philadelphia hit parade today at Bronx Ballpark. The catcher went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Freedom to a 18-5 victory over the Bronx Bombers. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Hernández told reporters after the game. " Seems like it worked out pretty well for us today." Bombers skipper Ronnie Hampton said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Martín Hernández hit an RBI single in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
