Super Swinger -- Hodges Slams 5 Hits
Monday, May 15th, 2028
Fairfield right fielder Brian Hodges went down swinging at Hell Stadium today, knocking out 5 hits even as his Flash fell, 10-9.
"It was like I was hitting little league pitching," Hodges said after his 5-for-5 performance against the Scranton Escape. "No offense meant to Scranton, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well."
After the game, his manager elaborated on the right fielder's improvements, saying Hodges spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.
"That's what I'm trying to do," Hodges agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
Brian Hodges hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far this season Hodges is hitting .444 with no home runs, 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored. He has 12 hits in 27 at-bats and has played in 10 games.
