Cy Young Award Goes to Ramírez
Tuesday, October 26th, 2027
Usually relievers are treated like second-class citizens at award time. Most of the time the accolades go to the starters, but not this season. A Antioch reliever, Gonzalo Ramírez, has been honored with the 2027 Cy Young Award in the Blake Camden League.
The Coal Miners ace appeared in 29 games and saved 2 of them. He finished with a record of 4-1 and a 1.97 ERA. Ramírez had 79 strikeouts in 77.2 innings and limited opposing hitters to a .211 batting average.
Sam Hatt of the Detroit Death Stars finished second in voting, while Arnaud Durand of the Antioch Coal Miners finished third.
