The Albuquerque center fielder stepped into the batter's box 5 times against the Indian Wells and delivered 5 hits. It was a sensational game for him. He told the press, "Unbelievable feeling. It felt good. 5 for 5! It does wonders for your batting average, too." John Barthe doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
