Hornets Win Divisional Championship Monday, October 23rd, 2028 The Eureka Hornets have beaten the Portland Beavers in the Divisional Championship, despite a strong performance from Beavers first baseman Jesús Cruz. Cruz was given MVP honors for his performance even though his team came out on the losing end of the series. "It's a good news, bad news thing I guess," he said. "Unfortunately the bad news is really bad -- our season is over." Eureka won the final game by a score of 4-2 at The Nest and took the series 4-2. The Eureka Hornets will play against the Maple Marauders in the next round. Maple won their series against the San Francisco Earthquakes 4 games to 2.
