San Francisco Sweeps into the Divisional Championship
Wednesday, October 11th, 2028
Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the Thurman Munson League Divisional Round. It turned out quite a bit different.
The San Francisco Earthquakes swept aside the South Carolina Bombers to advance to the Divisional Championship, winning the final game by a 8-5 score at Bomber Ballpark.
The series MVP was first baseman Juan López, who hit .412 with a .444 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs.
"We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."
The San Francisco Earthquakes will play against the Maple Marauders in the next round. Maple had a bye in the Divisional Round. The Divisional Championship schedule will be announced after the Divisional Round finishes.
