Tasha and Romero Fight, Get Suspended Sunday, September 24th, 2028 The action was hot and heavy at a recent Portland-South Carolina game at Waterfront Park in more ways than one. When tempers flared, both benches emptied and a mild melee ensued. The only thing hurt was a few players' pride. Two of the main figures in the brawl were suspended today by league officials. The Beavers Anuvaha Tasha and South Carolina's Oliver Romero will each miss 7 games for their roles in the fight. "We do not condone this kind of behavior on the field," the league announcement read. "As such, we believe that this punishment fits the actions taken by these two players. We hope that there will not be a repeat of the incident or else the consequences will be even more severe." Tasha has collected 198 hits for the Beavers this year, 40 of them home runs. He has also netted 122 RBIs and scored 87 runs while batting .321. On the year Romero has compiled a 14-8 mark with a 4.42 ERA. |
