Magic was in the air and on the mound at SouthSide Park today as John Stroud held the Chicago Hitmen spellbound in his 10-0 shutout victory. The Havana Stogies pitcher went the distance, rang up 4 strikeouts, walked 1 and held the Hitmen to 4 hits to garner the win.
"He just had us in his thrall," Chicago manager Steve Hansen said later. "We couldn't put anything together against him."
Season-to-date Stroud has rung up 15 wins and 8 losses in 30 appearances. He has an ERA of 3.85 and has fanned 143 batters in 191.2 innings.
