Eureka RF Whitney Will Miss 2-3 Weeks

The season is finished for Martin Whitney of the Eureka Hornets. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Hornets right fielder suffered a strained oblique while running the bases in a recent game against the Jacksonville Jacks. Team doctors said it would take at least 2-3 weeks to heal.
Currently Whitney is hitting .318 and has collected 29 home runs, 69 RBIs and scored 74 times, while playing in 104 games.
