Cortéz on Fire: 5-for-6 for Eureka Friday, August 11th, 2028 It was a sensational day at the plate for Juan Jose Cortéz as he led the charge to a 18-7 win over the Prowlers. The Eureka second baseman was pure misery for the Oklahoma City pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. The manager for the Prowlers told BNN reporters after the game, "Cortéz put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Juan Jose Cortéz singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
