San Diego Ships Thompson to Duke City Monday, July 31st, 2028 The Hops and Danger announced a deal that was completed today. San Diego sent 24-year-old RHP James Thompson, 32-year-old RHP Walt Lawson and 32-year-old RF Kyle Reader to Duke City for 24-year-old minor league CF Germano Lamorr, 32-year-old 3B Christian Chevalier, 24-year-old minor league LHP Jim Phillips and 21-year-old minor league LHP Yo Watanabe. Both teams appear happy with the outcome of the trade. The general managers told the Baseball News Network they felt the swap was beneficial for the both teams and the players. This season Thompson has a 4-12 mark in 21 starts with a 5.93 ERA. He has given up 144 hits in 112.1 innings, struck out 105 and issued 50 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .310 batting average against him. This season Chevalier is batting .265 with 35 hits, 4 home runs, 17 RBIs, .336 OBP and has scored 21 runs. |
