League Issues 2-Game Suspensions for Brawl Thursday, July 27th, 2028 Bloomington's Wiley Smith and South Carolina's Ange Schmit have been handed 2-game suspensions for their parts in yesterday's upheaval at Celestrial Fields at Hermann Park. The teams were notified today that the suspensions would go into effect immediately. According to the league commissioner Smith and Schmit provoked and incited the brawl and bore the blame for what transpired. Currently Smith has 6 home runs and a .350 batting average. This season-to-date, Schmit has fashioned a 7-7 mark and 5.04 ERA in 110.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .278 against him and he has logged 136 strikeouts. |
