Patriots Contreras Suffers Injury Friday, June 30th, 2028 José Contreras at first refused to leave today's Duke City-Manhattan Beach game after he suffered a sprained ankle while making a defensive play. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Manhattan Beach right fielder said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Contreras out of action for 4 weeks. This year Contreras is batting .282 with 82 hits, 18 home runs, 48 RBIs, 38 walks, .363 OBP and has scored 40 runs. |
