League Gives Moreno and Brouillette 10-Game Suspensions
Sunday, June 11th, 2028
The action was hot and heavy at a recent Eureka-Oklahoma City game at The Nest in more ways than one. When tempers flared, both benches emptied and a mild melee ensued. The only thing hurt was a few players' pride. Two of the main figures in the brawl were suspended today by league officials. The Hornets Jorge Moreno and Oklahoma City's Cohen Brouillette will each miss 10 games for their roles in the fight.

"We do not condone this kind of behavior on the field," the league announcement read. "As such, we believe that this punishment fits the actions taken by these two players. We hope that there will not be a repeat of the incident or else the consequences will be even more severe."

This year Moreno is hitting .349, produced 28 RBIs and 8 home runs, scored 26 times and gotten on base at a .389 rate.

So far this year Brouillette has made 14 starts, tossed 79.2 innings, struck out 44 batters and walked 27. His record is 4-5 with a 3.62 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .281 batting average.
