Davis Rips Cabo San Lucas for 5 Hits
Sunday, June 4th, 2028
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Mike Davis, it came around today.
The 26-year-old first baseman scattered hits all over Field de Los Layendas to pace the Duke City Danger to a 8-3 victory over the Cabo San Lucas Toreros.
Cabo San Lucas skipper José Núñez told reporters in the press room that "Davis deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Davis hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Mike Davis singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Davis is batting .316 this year with 5 home runs, 33 RBIs and 39 runs scored. He has 81 hits in 256 at-bats.
