Jackson Batters Minnesota for 5 Hits
Thursday, May 18th, 2028
New York left fielder Allan Jackson could do no wrong today, but the Mafia could.
Jackson collected 5 hits against the Minnesota Berserkers, but he couldn't win the game. New York fell, 7-6, in extra innings at Don Corleone Park.
"It's a shame we didn't win," Jackson said later. "It would have been a very special day if that had happened."
"In every one of his at-bats, things were in his favor," Berserkers manager Jerry Miller said. "We couldn't keep him from getting ahead in the count and once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get better pitches to hit."
Allan Jackson singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 7th, tripled in the 8th, struck out in the 10th, grounded out in the 13th and struck out in the 15th.
Jackson is swinging at a .296 pace on the year with 7 home runs, 22 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has played in 35 games.
