Maple-San Diego Make Major Trade Saturday, January 1st, 2028 Players had to say quick good-byes to their teammates this morning after learning that Maple had traded 27-year-old RHP Son Mai, 28-year-old 2B Akira Kato, 24-year-old minor league RHP Paul Johnston and 24-year-old minor league LHP Jason Duncan to Hops for 25-year-old 2B Gerard Leeder. Club officials for both teams told reporters the major swap was finalized over the past two days after a week of negotiations. For his career Kato has batted .287 and hit 46 home runs. In 682 career games Leeder is hitting at a .239 pace with 585 hits with 112 doubles, 38 triples and 95 homers while scoring 448 runs and racking up 316 RBIs. He logged 371 walks and owns a .346 on-base percentage. |
