5-Hit Game for Lewis Monday, September 27th, 2027 It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for David Lewis -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Skellington Stadium and paced the Storm Chasers to a 3-2 win over the Jacksonville Jacks. After his dynamite batting performance the Oakland left fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. David Lewis singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th, doubled in the 11th and hit a solo-shot off Ed Armstrong in the 13th. Lewis is swinging at a .285 pace on the year with 39 home runs, 112 RBIs and 86 runs scored. He has played in 159 games. |
