Mile High Stops Winters's Hit Streak
Sunday, June 20th, 2027
It was the best of both worlds for the Mile High Mustangs today at McNichols Stadium as they defeated the Kansas City Tornadoes 4-3 and also ended Matt Winters's 25-game hitting streak. The 32-year-old Kansas City left fielder failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Matt, we just wanted to win the game," said the victorious Mustangs skipper. "We did a great job keeping him off balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Winters frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about my streak ending, but I would feel much better about things if we had won the game."

So far this season Winters has gotten 110 hits in 285 at-bats for a .386 batting average with 8 home runs. His stats include 51 RBIs and 54 runs scored. He has played in 69 games.
