Titans Turn Back New York, 6-4
|
Despite a fine performance by left fielder Octávio García, the New York Mafia suffered a 6-4 loss to the Omaha Titans. García was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. Robert Cook got the win, improving to 1-1. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 4. Bill Daniels recorded the save for Omaha, his 4th of the season.
In the top of the fourth, Omaha center fielder Joe Kennedy had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and two out, Kennedy stroked a 2-run double to left. It made the score 3-2, Omaha. For the game, he was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Omaha manager Bernard Jacq.
With the loss, New York is 4-4.
