Bombers Topple Prowlers with Late Rally
|
The South Carolina Bombers bested the Oklahoma City Prowlers, 6-4, at Memorial Circle Park. Baber Davi was named player of the game. He was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Shinzo Sasaki, credited with the win, is now 3-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. The third-place Bombers are now 38-31, the Prowlers 36-33.
The most important at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Tadaaki Tahara threw a 1-2 splitter to Davi, which he hit to center for a 2-run double. It put South Carolina in front, 6-4.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Davi. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
