Big Day for Yang as Armada Down Blazers, 10-6
|
The Quebec Armada got a rain-soaked win over the Bloomington Blazers at Celestrial Fields at Hermann Park.
The Quebec Armada topped the Bloomington Blazers, 10-6, with catcher Tyan-yu Yang playing a big role. Yang was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Armada in the win. Finley Goddier, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 6 runs on 12 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 1. His record now stands at 4-1.
Jeffrey Evans was a key contributor to the win for the Armada. In the top of the eighth with one out, the light-hitting third baseman stroked a single to left. He went 1-1, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Evans, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
At 34-35, the Armada find themselves in 5th place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division.
